When you're pregnant, it's not easy to find the right model for your ever-changing body.

Living near the ocean, I soon needed to find the right models, as I couldn't pass up my regular sea baths, which save my legs from water retention and allow me to fill up on iodine and trace elements.

In this article, I'd like to share a few tips on how to choose the right swimsuit when you're pregnant. I hope you find these tips useful.

I decided not to buy pregnancy-specific swimwear because I couldn't find any pretty brands I liked, and I wanted to enjoy my swimwear after the birth too. So each time, I chose swimsuits that were adapted to my pregnancy, but that I could also wear again afterwards.

Comfort, the priority

The most important thing when choosing a swimsuit when you're pregnant is to choose models that are comfortable and pleasant to wear. You need models and materials that don't constrict your tummy, love handles or bust at the top.

Choice of materials

We avoid all models that are too close to the body, favoring cuts and materials that lie next to the skin.

At Sowe Biarritz, I recommend the fabric Jacquard which is super comfortabledoesn't comfortable and on the skin.

Avoid seams and high waistlines
For comfort, I also recommend avoid the swimwear from with seams,

especially those level the belly. It's really unpleasant to wear.

The two-piece swimsuit

For my part, when I'm pregnant I feel feel much better with a free belly. So I've opted to wear only two-pieces. I hate having my belly encased in fabric, it's not comfortable to wear, either when I go in the water, or after the bath to feel the wet material of the swimsuit on my belly.

Favoring "low-waisted" bottoms

When it comes to stockings, it all depends on your morphology, but for my part, I've chosen models that don't constrict my little love handles that develop a little more with pregnancy.

At Sowe Biarritz, I had a love at first sight for the Iris stockings in black and white jacquard, which I took in my classic size. They're very comfortable and not too tight.

I also chose the tangerine and Victoria blackcurrant stockings choosing a size up.

The right bra

As for tops, I chose ones that that support the bust and that room to move because your breasts evolve as your pregnancy progresses. You get a little more breast as the months go by.

At Sowe Biarritz, I fell in love with the Alba triangle in black Jacquard triangle, which is very comfortable to wear and holds the breasts well. I also chose the Guethary in white Jacquard white, which creates a pretty décolleté and adjusts in the back with a system of three settings.

I also took the balconnet model in two sizes up, which is very pretty and holds the bust well, but for comfort I prefer the Alba model and the Guethary model.

One or two sizes larger.

For your swimsuits, I advise you to take a size up from your normal size, because the body evolves during pregnancy and it's better to have a little leeway than to be a little too tight.

It's best to try on swimsuits or order several sizes, including a few above, to make sure you choose the right one and send back any that don't fit.

I hope you enjoyed this article on how to choose your swimsuit at Sowe :)
